NGO

Non-governmental Organizations (NGOs) located anywhere in the world share some common objectives. They are basically founded by social entrepreneurs and philanthropists who like to reach out and help the needy, under-privileged, disabled, old and destitute. There are also NGOs working for the protection of animals, birds and endangered species. Also, there are global-scale NGOs like Greenpeace working for the protection of nature, and conservation of natural resources. One thing that is common for all NGOs is their established objective to protect the interests, survival and continuity of a particular community or region.
During the COVID-19 the crucial role of NGOs in identifying the needy and unprivileged in the community stood recognized. It was indeed a challenge to reach out and help the needy and poor families. With deep knowledge of the communities, and the crucial needs of the needy people, the NGOs proved their point. In India, during the COVID-19 conditions, the NGOs rose to the occasion and helped the government agencies, philanthropists and hospitals to reach out to the poor and needy desperate for treatments and healthcare facilities.
Citizens for Hope is a dedicated social service organization with focus on bridging NGOs with hospitals for medical supplies and healthcare facilities. Founded by Vineeth Reddy, a young social entrepreneur, and NRI, Citizens for Hope addressed the yawning gaps between NGOs looking for medical supplies, and dedicated hospitals that were ready to provide the same. During the COVID-19 lockdown, Vineeth Reddy visited his native town in the Coastal Andhra region. He was touched by the unparalleled suffering and misery of the poor households who lost their livelihoods and lacked even the basic healthcare facilities. He wanted to do something that will help the needy and unprivileged to come out of all hardships. His idea was to bridge local NGOs with dedicated hospitals for medical supplies and providing of basic healthcare facilities.
To begin with, Citizens for Hope aims to collaborate with NGOs, and connect them with reputed and service-oriented hospitals of the Coastal Andhra region. This timely and ingenious effort by Citizens for Hope will bring a sea of change in the way NGOs and hospitals reach out to the needy and affected poor households during the COVID-19. Understandably, COVID-19 virus has been mutating into virulent strains, and spreading across the globe. Vaccinations for protection from one strain of COVID-19 had to be reinforced with booster dosages. In a condition where the whole world has to live with COVID-19 for ever, Citizens for Hope’ noble objective to bridge NGOs with dedicated hospitals in India for medical supplies and healthcare facilities establishes a historical precedent in meeting the challenges of COVID-19.
